After reading Marie Kondo's books, I was super excited to work with Jenny, and her work surpassed my expectations. Jenny had the perfect balance of patience and motivation to make sure I moved through the process of streamlining my stuff. She doesn't tell you what you should get rid of. Instead, she asks clarifying questions about the purpose of your belongings. And, if I wanted to keep something, then she would help me figure out how to clean, repair, or make it noticeable so I would actually use it. She is full of tips and suggestions for organizing what you keep. She is more than a personal organizer. She empathetically coaches through any emotions that might come up when interacting with items in one's home. For me, the biggest blocks to minimizing my stuff are feeling overwhelmed and emotional attachment and memories associated with my things. Jenny has great wisdom and takes everything step by step until amazing progress has been made. Ever since working with Jenny, I feel positive and happy when I look at my closet and drawers. She worked a miracle in my home. I hope you enjoy working with Jenny as much as I did. DC is lucky to have Jenny and Declutter DC!

"Thanks ever so much, Jennifer. You helped turned my "junk room" into a sweet haven.. I have already been applying the organizing principals throughout the day! Not only are you friendly and helpful, but you are also a real professional, and I felt so comfortable having you in my space and seeing all the clutter. That was finally organized and slimmed down! You made me feel good about letting go of things that I no longer either wear or need.. and sharing my clothes with others who might want or need them! I will be calling you again to help with other parts of the house!"

"Highly highly recommend working with Jenny. She understands that some decisions about what to keep or get rid of are emotional, not logical. And she keeps space for those emotions. She constantly checked in with me to ask how I was feeling about the process. She always asked my permission to open a new drawer or start on a new space, and was always respectful."

"I LOVED working with Jenny! There was absolutely no judgment when I welcomed her into my disastrous room. I felt so much better/lighter/freer when she left. I highly recommend her."

"See my “office” now. I kept at it after you left and cleared the decks. Moreover, I did not simply pile the unsorted morass into storage. Your consultation worked magic for me. I feel free to continue on the journey. I am starting a journal as recommended. I found the lost my notebook with passwords, found over 3k in savings bonds for our son from my Mother’s papers/estate and potentially another 50 k in cd’s! The main thing I want to report is that I have turned the corner. THANK YOU!"

The experience, along with your personality, was warm, welcoming, and objective. I really appreciated your comments about simply being thankful for each item and then letting go. I feel lighter already! I’m truly grateful for the service you provided.

"It is seamless working with you. You make an overwhelming task so easy. Before I know it you have quietly organized items by type. You have a perfect mix of professionalism and friendliness. No mess strikes fear in your heart! Thank you. I am loving the end result. Feeling confident enough to wear one of my flowery blouses tonight for dinner at home with my husband, daughter and her boyfriend was such a positive change for me! I am looking forward to continuing the work with you."

Jenny helped us with the transition from individual offices to an open floor plan and workstations with more moderate storage space. Her tips were inspirational while also practical, providing our staff with the resources to start hands-on downsizing immediately after her workshop. It was the fresh look we needed to begin the reorganization of our physical office with a positive lens.

Jenny changed the way I think, and therefore live, with my belongings. I look at my things more objectively and she taught me how to keep the most important pieces. I needed help getting started and I couldn’t have done it without her! I recommend this process for everyone.

We had such positive feedback from the staff who attended the sessions Jenny led for us. A few mentioned they started the day at home with a guided meditation. One person said she [meditated] with her assistant manager before starting the day and that they committed to continuing the practice [together].

We had moved nearly five times in 10 years with the military, and added two kids to the mix in that time. With another move pending, it was time for us to manage our ‘stuff’ and decide what really mattered. Jenny was thorough and patient and has an eye for organization, but more importantly, she offered guidance without judgment. The time and money were well spent to teach me how to evaluate utility v. joy, and to temper the sentiment of ‘What if I need this one day?’ It turns out, I don't! I would highly recommend Jenny if you are looking to find a way to permanently decrease the clutter!

In just two sessions with Jenny, my bedroom has been transformed. It is such a joy to be able to locate my clothing right away. I could even get dressed in the dark, because I know where everything is. It's amazing to see the amount of things I never needed or used, and I feel lighter having given those items away! I look forward to working with Jenny throughout the rest of my house!

Please do yourself a favor and hire Jenny. While her services are an investment, you are investing in yourself for the long run and she will help you make life changing habits that are attainable and maintainable. Jenny entered our lives just as we got married, like literally two weeks after our wedding. Our space was chaos. But slowly with the help of Jenny we tackled the mountains and made real progress. The place feels so much better now. I feel like I can breath again. One of the things that was so impressive about Jenny is how she meets you wherever you are. There is no pushing to get rid of anything. She patiently makes a space where you are in control of exactly what happens and allows you to process why you are holding on to something that doesn't really aid you in life. For me clothes were the hardest. For my husband it was paper. She helped us greatly, gently guiding us as we struggled, helped us refocus, and helped us achieve our goals.

I appreciated the up-front conversation before we began, which gave me a sense of what to expect and how to divide our time. I was amazed by how much work we got done in five hours. It’s a great, clarifying feeling to have cleaned out space in my closets and storage unit, and I know I wouldn’t have achieved that in double the time without your second pair of hands and constant focus. This morning I reflected on the fact that this was really the beginning of planning my move, and I appreciate the kickstart our session gave me.

As we prepped our home of 25 years for sale, there was one malignant problem: my ‘office.’ Forty-five years of unsorted papers, articles, photographs, navy memorabilia and family heirlooms disastrously unorganized. Not only was the transformation miraculous, it has been sustainable, and Jenny’s patient, quiet approach was inspirational. My career, community service and family life have been quite successful. However, I now fully understand that a spiritual and practical commitment to the Kondo method will be the foundation block going forward for the remainder of my work and life. Jenny has made me a believer in the method.

While I was already aware of the method, it was good to have someone there holding me accountable when going through my items so that I was really making sure they suit me ‘today,’ not in the past or one-day in the future. I loved how you reorganized my closet space so that I could see things better; even small changes made a huge difference.

I liked your patient approach, especially at the beginning. You could probably sense my anxiety as we looked at that first box with all that stuff. I couldn't believe how much we accomplished.

"Jenny did an amazing job of listening to my desired outcomes of our session together, and planning our time accordingly. She was a constant help during the session, both in maintaining focus and as a second pair of hands. I accomplished much more in 5 short hours than I thought possible!"

Jenny is inspiring! I liked the idea of putting all our cleaning goods for every room in one place so I don't buy duplicate items anymore. Plus it will clear out the space under my kitchen and bathroom sinks.

I can't recommend working with Jenny Albertini highly enough. At a high level, she's an incredibly helpful, careful listener, who attuned to my specific needs. Even beyond decluttering- we tackled my work-from-home routines and habits. At a personal level, it takes a special skill to tap into the layers of reasons our houses are the way they are and to uncover or create the systems we need to make things run more smoothly, and Jenny excels here. I felt listened to, seen, cared for, and so impressed at how open-minded Jenny was in our work together.

One of the things that we've struggled with on our journey is our different styles of organizing. I am an everything-in-place type of person, while my husband is an if he can't see it, it doesn't exist. Enter Jenny to the rescue. She carefully crafted systems that worked for both of us and helped us to separate our items so that the systems worked together, not against each other. Let me tell you, I never thought I would be so excited about how my under-sink space looked. It's now so functional and way less cluttered. We each have our own space and a system that works. All of my husband's stuff is easily accessible, so he knows exactly what he has on hand. No more buying extra because it wasn't "there." Her mediation was a huge plus during this project. She would gently refocus me to work on other projects when I wasn't adding to the situation. We made so much progress this way. It's been over a year since Jenny entered our lives. We've been able to maintain all of the systems and be way more mindful of whatever comes into the house. We now have the space and time to add other things to our life that are more important than constantly reshuffling clutter. Thank you Jenny for helping us reclaim our space.

"It is amazing how much lighter you feel at home after Jenny helps you declutter your living space. I used to trip over things, look constantly for certain items, and honestly feel a little ashamed of the messes in my condo. Jenny approached the challenge with professionalism and understanding while helping me realize that I didn't need sitting around in my place anymore. Now I feel happier and more efficient at home and in life! Thanks to her I am so proud to have people over to visit."
